“I’m Jewish and black. Where do I fit in?” Nadine Batchelor-Hunt
Nadine Batchelor-Hunt travels to Israel to explore Black Jewish identity.
This was my programme idea that got commissioned by BBC World Service. Myself and the presenter Nadine travelled to Israel to record the majority of the programme on location.
This was during the Covid pandemic so the logistics of getting into the country complicated matters. We met a variety of contributors and spent time at their holy festival of Sigd in Jerusalem.
Nadine also wrote about her experiences for a BBC article: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-59748260 The webpage article received over 540,000 page views in the first day of it being posted. Additionally, the social post on Facebook reached over 173,000 accounts.
