Descendants asks how far back in our own histories we need to go to find a connection to Britain’s slave-trading past.
This seven part series illuminated how history has affected individuals on a personal level and how their history links them to someone else. It was an ambitious project and the direction of the series was very much governed with each new contributor we spoke to.
Polly Weston was the main series producer and I worked alongside her and Rema Mukena as co-producer.
