Producing

Script Supervisor on Stephen Fry’s Victorian Secrets

I spent two years working at Virgin Radio UK. The two main shows I worked on were Edith Bowman’s Breakfast Show and the Evening Show presented by Tim Cocker. During my tenure, I booked guests across the network, created original online content for social media and developed content ideas for on air.

I also freelance as Assistant Producer at LBC working on a variety of shows and in 2018 I worked as Assistant Producer and Script Supervisor on Stephen Fry’s Victorian Secrets (Audible). I also freelance at BBC Radio London working as a Broadcast Assistant on the Breakfast show with Vanessa Feltz.

University of York

Brief: To record and produce two podcasts for the University of York as part of their Story of Things strand

Podcast One: The Story of Children’s Mental Health

Examining the positive role of gaming in children’s mental health

Podcast Two: The Story of Singing in Virtual Reality

Examining the role of choirs and community singing with mental health

Project: It was interesting to work with academics, as they had never recorded anything before. The main aim was to make their project understandable not just for their fellow academics, but for anyone else who may have stumbled across their work

Challenge: The academics I worked with had never done any recording before so it was a foreign concept. It showed me that I had to give my direction and instructions even more clearly and concisely than I would usually do if I was working with someone more comfortable in front of the microphone.
